Manual therapy includes:
Massage is the manipulation of soft tissue which promotes circulation within muscles, to release muscles which have become tightened. This increase in muscular suppleness can increase joint range of motion and ultimately improve your horse's performance.
Joint mobilizations are a form of manual therapy which helps release off restrictions within joints, to improve joint range of motion. This form of manual therapy can also release associated muscle restrictions.
Stretching restores the normal functional length of muscles, which may have become shortened due to overuse/underuse. Stretching can improve and maintain your horses performance, by preventing stiffness, increasing joint range of motion and increasing muscular suppleness. Stretching also has the potential to reduce the risk of muscle injury.
